Monaco defeat Arsenal 3-1 away

The former Spurs, Manchester United and Fulham striker enjoyed his second half strike which put the game beyond Arsenal

It was what is known as an attitude adjustment. Arsenal followers may have felt a little smug and confident when considering last night’s Champions League opponents.

Dimitar Berbatov at centre-forward. Once a Tottenham Hotspur hero, late of Fulham’s reserves in a relegation season. Seriously? Is that all you’ve got?
If Berbatov picked up on the vibe he would he left north London will no small feeling of satisfaction. It was his goal, after 53 minutes, that may have done for Arsenal in this tournament this season.
That it was Monaco’s second of the night without reply makes this one of the shocks of the Champions League campaign so far. We knew Monaco could keep it tight. Nobody fancied them taking a two-goal lead back to their home second leg, though. And it could have been more.
Ospina was caught off balance as Kondogbia's effort careers into the net to give Monaco the lead and a vital away goal

Arsenal look dejected following the opener, and worse was to come for Arsene Wenger's side, who were off the boil all night

Dimitar Berbatov rolled back the years with a glorious finish after Anthony Martial hit Arsenal on the break with a classic counter-attack
