Chris Ramsey is expected to be named manager of QPR

Ramsey has been in temporary charge since Harry Redknapp’s resignation and guided the R’s to their first away win of the campaign at Sunderland on Tuesday evening - ending a run of 11 successive PL away defeats

The midfielder wrote on his Twitter feed: "Good news on Chris Ramsey. V good since he has come in. Got group back on track. Lots for us all to do now to keep club in the league."And QPR captain Joey Barton thinks the appointment of Ramsey would be an excellent move by the club.
Asked on Thursday evening if the Ramsey deal was finalised, Sky Sports News HQ reporter Dharmesh Sheth said: “Not yet but I think we are getting close.
“The contracts are being finalised. Chris Ramsey came to QPR as the Head of Player Development so he has to change his contract to become manager.
“We thought there might be an announcement tonight but it is now likely to be tomorrow morning.
“Now it is up to Chris Ramsey in these final 13 games to ensure that QPR stay out of that bottom three.
“It starts as official manager for Chris Ramsey at Hull City on Saturday week. Who knows? If he does keep them up, (chairman) Tony Fernandes might look at Chris Ramsey as the man for the permanent job.”
Several managers have been linked with the QPR post since Redknapp’s resignation.
And Sheth reported: “As I understand it, Tony Fernades and the QPR board have been interested in five other managers.
“The first one was Steve McClaren, but he wanted to stay with Derby, who are doing so well in the Championship.
“Then there was the bookies’ favourite (former Spurs boss) Tim Sherwood but we understand that one broke down over personal terms.
“Then there was the (former Swansea manager) Michael Laudrup situation.
“Everyone thought the 'dream manager' tweet from Tony Fernades was to do with Michael Laudrup but my understanding is that was driven more from Michael Laudrup’s end, and it was from the agents’ side, they wanted to speak to QPR to try and get Michael Laudrup’s name in there.
“There was also interest in the Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa.
“And that Tuesday tweet from Fernandes in which he said ‘Think I’ve got my dream manager’, it is my understanding that man was the Real Madrid assistant manager Paul Clement.
“But there is now every expectation that there will be a formal announcement tomorrow and that Chris Ramsey will be in charge for the final 13 games of the season.”
He said after the game on Tuesday: "If the job's available and I’m the right man for the job, then I’ll do it.Ramsey has been open about expressing his interest in taking charge on a more permanent basis.
"If not, I’ll stay as an employee - head of player development - for the club and continue to support the cause."
