Louis Van Gaal denies FA misconduct charges.

Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has denied his Football Association misconduct charge and requested a personal hearing.

The Dutch coach was initially charged after suggesting that the referee was against his side in the 0-0 draw with Cambridge in the FA Cup fourth round.

Van Gaal later revealed that he would contest the charge and the FA have now confirmed that, after the Premier League club were granted a 24-hour extension, he has followed that through and also requested a personal hearing.

A statement from the FA read: "Louis Van Gaal denies FA misconduct charge in relation to media comments and requests personal hearing, date to be confirmed.

"The Manchester United manager was charged following the FA Cup tie against Cambridge United on 23 January 2015. It is alleged his comments constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of the match referee and/or bring the game into disrepute."
