Theo Walcott returns, Alexis Sanchez shine.

Alexis Sanchez will get the headlines for his match-winning double against Burnley. And so he should. The Chilean was outstanding, and is looking more and more like Arsenal's difference-maker - their Luis Suarez, says Arsene Wenger - by the week.

"I think we had 30 crosses today and couldn’t win any headers, but in the end [Alexis] got there," the manager reflected. "He’s a winner."

But in the fullness of time, towards the business end of the season when looking back on this rather routine 3-0 win, Wenger and Arsenal may reflect on something else as providing even more significance than another developmental step for their €41 million summer signing.

The return of Theo Walcott.

Arsenal, to their credit, have not made it easy for opposition visiting the Emirates Stadium this season but neither have they made home games particularly comfortable for Wenger.

After a last-ditch draw against Hull and back-and-forth encounters with Tottenham and Manchester City which also ended with the points shared, the Gunners eventually emerged victorious on this occasion largely thanks to Alexis.

It took them 70 minutes to go ahead against bottom-dwellers Burnley, who are now 10 without a win and are offering less and less resistance by the week. "[Alexis] was excellent all day, his movement, his energy," Sean Dyche admitted. "Forget all his quality, he was non-stop."
