The former Everton and Manchester United manager faced the press in San Sebastian for the first time since his reign at Old Trafford was cut short just 10 disappointing months into a six-year contract."It's always been my ambition to manage abroad," said Moyes. "I've always felt to be completely fulfilled as a coach, you need to make sure you’ve tried all the cultures and look to enhance yourself.
"And I feel at this stage that I'm at, it's the right time. I'm well rested, I've had six months off and I've got to say I'm raring to go."
Moyes claimed he rejected the opportunity to return to the Premier League in favour of Sociedad and insisted he always believed he would return to management.
"I really think that coming here gives me the opportunity to manage in La Liga. I think at the present time you could say it's the best league in the world."I never had any doubt. I've had several offers to manage back in the Premier League, I spoke to several clubs in different countries but the only job that really tugged at the heart strings and made me think that this is the right club has been Sociedad.
"So I'm really looking forward to the challenge, a big challenge but one that I’m really confident about."
The 51-year-old Scot's first game in charge of Socidad will be against Deportivo La Coruna live in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday, November 22 at 9pm.
