I want to play in a 4-4-2 - Cavani
Edinson Cavani says he thought he would play in a 4-4-2 alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he signed forParis Saint-Germain and admits he wants coach Laurent Blanc to play him as a striker.
The Uruguay international joined the club from Napoli in the summer of 2013 after developing into one of the world's most prolific strikers in Serie A but has often played as a winger in PSG's 4-3-3 system.
As a result, the 27-year-old has failed to reproduce his best form in Paris, resulting in speculation regarding his happiness at the Parc des Princes, and he has now admitted he wants the chance to play in his preferred role
"It's not a matter of being better in the middle of the attack. On the sides, it's more difficult for me. But the most important thing is the team, you have to help sometimes. It is normal for me to complain, as it was my position these last years," he told Telefoot.
"A 4-4-2 with Zlatan? That's how I imagined to play when I first came at the club. But things change a lot."
The transfer rumour mill has linked Cavani with a move to Premier League side Manchester United in recent months and though he remains insistent he is happy at the club, he refused to rule out a move in the future.
"Was I more happy at Napoli? These are journalist comments - I'm not a smiling person, that's all. Everybody has an opinion. I'm happy at Paris, you don't know what can happen in football, but my mind is set on PSG."
