The acting boss, who was assistant to Neil Warnock before he was sacked on December 27, took charge of the 0-0 draw with QPR on Sunday and is set to take the team again on New Year’s Day against Aston Villa.
There is what he said:
“I'd be happy to work at this football club, depending on what my role would be. I enjoy what I do at the moment,” he said.
“As far as I'm concerned, the chairman has told me to prepare for Aston Villa. It's important myself and the players stay focused on that.
“I saw the players this morning and I told them exactly what I know. We discussed the game against QPR and watched the video. We’re focused on the next game. If by then the Alan deal is done, great. If not, we'll carry on.”
He stated that they 've moved on from Neil leaving. The team’s been through it before. We deal with these situations when they arise.
“I spoke to the chairman last night and he said Newcastle compensation has been agreed and we've been given permission to speak to Alan. That was literally all I was told and nothing’s changed since then.”
"Alan's played for this club, he's from this area, he's got a lot of fond memories and it means a lot to him, this club," said Millen.
"Crystal Palace is a good job for somebody, I know it is. We've got a good group of players, we had a good season last year, and the chairman and the board want to build on what success we've had.
"So it's an attractive job and I can understand why Alan would be interested."
Millen, who is in his third spell as Palace's interim manager, said he would ideally like to take the job on a full-time basis, given the opportunity.
"I want to manage again, without a doubt," said Millen, who was in charge at Bristol City from August 2010 until October 2011.
"But I'm patient at the moment because I enjoy working at Crystal Palace. I enjoy my role working with the players, because they are a good group to work with and I come into work enjoying what I'm doing.
"You can't always pick and choose when jobs become available.
"I'm always on the look to see what's going on. I've had no approaches for a job so I've not had to make that decision, and I'm actively not looking for another job."
