Injury blow for Vincent Kompany.

Vincent Kompany

Manchester City suffered an injury blow in Saturday's clash with Leicester City after Vincent Kompany limped off with an apparent hamstring injury.

The centre-back had only returned from a hamstring problem at the King Power Stadium having missed his side's last three games, including the 2-0 Champions League win over Roma.

Kompany was immediately replaced after 77 minutes as he clutched his hamstring after being chased down by Leicester forward Jamie Vardy.

The injury to the City skipper comes as a further blow to Manuel Pellegrini, with Edin Dzeko having already limped out before a ball had even been kicked after picking up a knock in the warm-up.

Argentina international Sergio Aguero, meanwhile, is expected to be out until the new year with a knee ligament injury while Yaya Toure will soon be unavailable for selection as he jets off to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
