France Prime Minister Manuel Valls condems Zlatan Ibrahimovic's outburst about the country.

France Prime Minister Valls shocked by Ibrahimovic outburst

France Prime Minister Manuel Valls has admitted he was shocked by Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's outburst about the country on Sunday. The 33-year-old was left fuming after his side's 3-2 Ligue 1 defeat at the hands of Bordeaux at the weekend and was caught on camera delivering a foul-mouthed tirade during which he labelled France a "sh*t" country. Ibrahimovic apologised for his comments shortly after the incident, but Valls was not impressed and has urged the striker to think about the potential consequences of his words before he speaks his mind.

"I was shocked by his statements toward the referees and France in general," Valls told Grand Journal.
"A footballer must realise that he should always behave well. Ibrahimovic must be aware that every word counts in these troubling times.

"Everybody loses his bearings somewhat when something like this happens."
Ibrahimovic could face a suspension for his outburst, with the French Football Federation (FFF) confirming on

Monday they have opened an investigation into the matter and will hold a Discplinary Committee meeting on Thursday.

The former Barcelona star already has a suspended one-match sentence hanging over his head after an incident earlier this season.
